HOW DO I GET MY THREE YEAR EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTE TEACHING PERMIT WHICH WILL ALLOW ME TO BEGIN SUBSTITUTE TEACHING?
*****************************PLEASE NOTE******************************
In order to qualify for a Three Year Substitute Permit, a person needs to hold a Bachelor's Degree (not a teaching degree) from an accredited institution.
Prior to registering for the course, it is the responsibility of the application check with school districts (public, private, and parochial) to ensure getting one district to sign the D.P.I. application.
Along with the above requirements, you must attend training. TEAM EDUCATORS provides a one day training for those interested in becoming substitute teachers. This training is endorsed by the Department of Public Instruction (D.P.I.). At the training, TEAM EDUCATORS will provide the D.P.I. Three Year Permit application form, fingerprint cards, along with an explanation of the application process.
After the training is completed, the following materials need to be submitted to the D.P.I.:
Once the Substitute Teacher Permit is received, the person may contact a public, private, or parochial school to inquire about substitute teaching for that school district/school.
Check the D.P.I. website for further information. (http://www.dpi.wi.gov/tepdl).
